Abbreviated answer: No.
Unabbreviated answer:
We realized early on in our product development process that we were lacking any skills internally to produce G-bags in any manor consistent with efficient manufacturing!
We researched various types of manufacturers and sewing contractors and read-up as much info as we could on forums and blogs with similar subject matter. Having worked earlier in my career in the Garment industry which subsequently was affected by NAFTA, in our hearts we felt compelled to try to manufacture our products domestically. We limited ourselves initially to Continental US-manufacturing companies - a personal & business decision.
The first couple of manufactures were disasters, either they had little or no customer support or their end product was inferior and overprices. Our first contractor prototyped and manufactured our initial order of several hundred G-bags. The contract manufacture is located in California and provided good wages and benefits to its employees. They were a small lean organization but met all our requirements for everything else. The only downside is that they were all the way across the country so shipping was crazy and costly, but they are experienced, flexible and their prices were fair. We continue to use this manufacture but have found some of our products just can not compete unless they are manufactured off shore. The decision was made to off shore some of our manufacturing in 2009. The decision was not made lightly, but quite frankly, there is no alternative when there are no domestic manufactures that are able to produce products at prices people are willing to pay, you just can’t get it made in the USA.
